My weekend in Ottawa

(Soaked in luxury top, Joe's jeans, Aerie tank)

We packed a bag and headed to Ottawa Saturday morning to visit some friends for the weekend. We got to sip on champagne and munch on little candies while visiting bridal shops for my friend who is getting married. I forgot how much fun it was searching for the dress! We also discovered this cute boutique called Victoire(which you can see in the pics above)that had some very unique pieces. For dinner we ate at a great tapas resto called Navarro where the food was excellent!

P.S. I always manage to sneak in some leopard, you would think my blog was called "Cheetah is the new black".  Which  BTW you should check out because it is one of my faves.

Olivia Palermo: London Fashion Week

I am a bit of a stalker when it comes to Olivia.  She is always so fabulously dressed and well put together.  Her outfits are always interesting and fresh (notice how she adds so many prints, textures and colors together).  She is a real style icon and I just can't get enough! Love the leopard touches:)
Happy weekend!

A woman's best friend: Jewelery

(Blair from Atlantic-Pacific)

(My set of bangles and cuffs)

(My jewelery stand)

(Noemiah business card )

Ok so diamonds are a girl's best friend, but let's be more general and talk about jewelery.  I just discovered Atlantic-Pacific and instantly fell in love with Blair's style. She has a knack at putting outfits together and then adding great jewelery to make perfect ensembles. Which got me thinking that I should mix more jewelery into my daily outfits (now added to my resolutions/objectives list for 2011). I also decided that I should invest in the classics like some good old David Yurman and and other special pieces from local designers such as Noemiah.

Weekend basics: Floral top and black denim

(Eva Franco top, J Brand jeans, Seven for all mankind boots, Foley and Corinna bag)

Went for breakfast with some friends at a very cute place called Griffintown followed by some vintage shopping (thank you to my friend Clara who took my pics).  I wore a floral top in darker shades with some black denim topped with a fur trimmed pea coat. For breakfast I had the eggs benedict as usual with a latte that was just perfect. Will definitely go back soon for the mac and cheese!! I am also very in love with the decor: brick wall, beautiful mirrors and a real rustic feel.  Overall it was a great Saturday and I even picked up a vintage silk scarf!

J.Crew: Made in Italy

I am so inspired by this video and love that we are going back to craftsmanship and hopefully away from mass production. Recently I was frustrated with the lack of quality shoes being sold in stores. I feel like they break easily and are uncomfortable due to the materials used and the way they are made. Hopefully Jenna can lead the way and bring on an era of quality goods.

Please tell me what you think?

Lunch Break Inspiration : Olivia Palermo for Tibi

So I was going to have an outfit post today, but had a huge pimple on my forehead and so no pics for today ( the Star Trek forehead just won't do:).  And Olivia just looks way better than I ever will!  This trench in the first pic is so fabulous I had to share.

Loving right now: Coral and Nude pairings

Coral and \nude

I cannot wait for the snow to melt and the sun to shine to start wearing some spring looks. In the meantime though I am looking for inspiring looks and Rachel Bilson caught my eye as usual. She paired her Vanessa Bruno jacket with a nude sun dress and her favorite open-toe booties from Maison Martin Margiela. This overall look is so fresh and an will definitely be injecting these colors into my wardrobe.

My Valentine's dinner outfit

(MK2K dress, Ginger sweater, Zara shoes, Vintage bag, BR ring)

My guy and I are not really that into Valentines day, but decided to go out for dinner anyways.  We picked this cute resto suggested by friends called Wellhouse and enjoyed a rather casual evening. He had the burger and fries and I had the seabass and veggies with wine, of course.  I decided to wear a LBD with a fuschia cardigan and leopard accessories ( thought I would get into the spirit by wearing some pink!).  The rest of my weekend was filled with browsing other fashion blogs for great shots of NYFW along with a Gossip Girl marathon.

How are you guys celebrating Valentines?

My go to blazer with a twist

(Zara blazer, Club Monaco dress, Ash shoes, Vintage bag)
So I've become a little obsessed with Fashiolista lately and been browsing the site like crazy. There are so many beautiful things that you can "love"  with a cute little heart button. Give it a try and you will see it is addictive. Also had a meeting this morning with my CFO and decided that a blazer would be needed for the meeting. This is my go to blazer because it's black and well fitted. I paired it with a geometric print dress and then accessorized it with a gold pin, a statement ring and some mix of bangles.

Have a great Thursday:)

Classic Blazer | Everybody, Everywear

A fashion forward camera by Hermes and Leica

I am loving this limited edition M7 Leica camera and its retro feel. It is enveloped in Hermes orange leather and would be the best accessory this summer.  Also the girl in the pic is sporting a fantastic outfit!  Love the bow tied shirt and wide leg pants.  So on trend for spring.

I was wondering how much the camera was and after checking was astonised at the price!  Wanna guess?

A basic skirt that can be worn with everything

(H&M top, Zara skirt, Michael Kors clogs, Paul & Friends scarf, LV bag)
Over the past weekend I had to work on some school stuff since I am taking a class, but got to still go out for some all you can eat sushi, celebrate my grandfather's b-day and shop a little bit. I purchased this camel skirt at Zara which is basic and can be worn with many things for different looks. I paired it with a striped top for work but will definitely wear it with a jean shirt for the weekend. Whenever I buy something I always want it to match with everything. I have this fear  that it can only be worn with one thing and therefore not very wearable. Also found the perfect red nailpolish from OPI called "Got the blues for Red".

What is your favorite nail color?

Fashionable Reads

Fashionable Reads

The List: The Sartorialist, The Fashion File, Style A to Zoe, P.S. I Made This, Facehunter and The Little Black Book of Style

I love flipping through my Style A to Zoe book even though I have looked at it countless times.  Every time I pick it up I am newly inspired from her determination to be a stylist, great fashion tips and beautiful images.  Also adore The Sartorialist by Scott Schuman and his images of street style.  They are an easy read and love the beautiful pictures these books offer.

Also would love if you guys can vote for me on Hypeed.  And my giveaway will be on Monday so there is still time to enter!

Dreaming of warmer days

While walking to work through the gusty freezing cold winds, I was of course dreaming of better weather.  I am so looking forward to spring and all the color, light fabrics and prints it will bring. I am in love with these  D & G ads because of the floral and gingham prints mixed with denim.  The pops of red and pink are so feminine and lively that I can't wait to bust out my spring wardrobe.

And today was groundhog day!  Anybody think he ventured out to see his shadow?

Thanks for commenting, it really means a lot to me:)

A little ruffle here and there

(Urban Outfitter dress, random sweater, F21 necklace, Killah shoes, BR bag)

So I can't believe that it's already February! You know what that means, I can shop again!! I am currently loving anything oversize and slouchy, like this cardigan which I bought 2 sizes bigger.  Slouchy can be work appropriate too, if paired with something a little more structured like this dress.

What are you loving right now?
