the volts.com

Just received a great invitation to an exclusive shopping site called thevolts.com. They have great sales from designers such as James Perse, LNA and Treesje. I of course couldn't wait and needed to make a purchase and got some great leggings from LNA. Check them out below and visit the site. Cannot wait to pair them with some long knits and shirts!

How to keep the creativity flowing...

Source: The Shiny Squirrel
So I have not really been blogging much since I have not really felt creative or compelled to share anything. I would love that each post be unique and different but it is sometimes hard to achieve that every  time. But here are some great ideas to get your creativity flowing again.  In addition to this list i also started an online inspiration board you can see here.  It's actually really become addictive!

NYC Weekend Pics

This past weekend we went to visit family in New Jersey and did some day trips to NYC. We walked around SOHO and the East Village (my fave spots) and enjoyed the beautiful weather. I also did a little shopping at J.Crew (moccasins and poncho)and picked up some cupcakes at the Little Cupcake Bakeshop(vanilla vanilla is my fave!).  Overall it was a great weekend and can't wait to go back.

Random pics of things I'm loving ...

Great saying!

New snack I am really loving

Dreaming of these babies!
Necklace I never want to take off!

Well the rain has come and settled in Montreal this weekend.  Hopefully we will have some sun filled days ahead for the long Thanksgiving weekend coming up!  Thus it was hard to get some outfit shots as the weather did not really permit.  So I pretty much stayed indoors this weekend (apart from a beautiful wedding I attended) and watched some movies (Friends with Benefits) and munched on pretzels:)

Have a wonderful week!

Arm Candy for the workplace

(Miss WorkiGirl wearing MK watch, mom's link bracelet, DIY orange bracelet, Fun & Basics mint green bracelet and BR bangle)

(Blair from Atlantic - Pacific blog)
(Taylor from Sterling Style)
(For a more casual look, here is one from Sincerely, Jules)

Arm candy is everywhere these days and I love it!!  I am a really big fan of piled on jewels but need to keep in mind that the look is not always office appropriate. Also beware of jingly jewelry in the workplace as it can sometimes be distracting. Therefore I usually don't go overboard on the bracelets for work, but simply add a couple of more classy pieces. Above are some great options for those who like silver or gold (or a mix of both). So start piling it on ladies and let me know which is your fave?

Lazy Sunday getup

(River Island top, Seven for all mankind jeans, MK mocassins and LV bag)
(Very comfy shoes!, great for walking)

This weekend was mostly spent relaxing and a great way to do so is by talking long walks.  Montreal has some great spots and one of my favorite is around the Lachine Canal.  It is absolutely gorgeous and  filled with beautiful green spaces.  I kept my outfit simple and just tied my hair in a low bun to really get that relaxed look.  Having to dress up for work really makes you want to be casual on the weekend:)  But that doesn't mean you need to be sloppy.  Some great options are leggings with a great chambay shirt or a simple and casual dress with some great flats.

Playing Favorites

New Specs from Oliver Peoples (Wacks model)

(Shoes that will be be in constant rotation for Fall)

New Shirt from Mink Pink

(Maison Scotch shirt with feather pattern)

This was both a lazy and healthy weekend, where I got to sleep in, exercise and just enjoy.  I have been working some pretty late hours as of late and really needed to start a healthy routine.  So to do that I went jogging along the canal close to the Atwater market, ate fresh vegetables from my garden and gave myself a facial.  I also did a little shopping where I bought 2 new shirts (see above), picked up my new nerdy chic eyeglasses and picked my favorite shoes to be worn this fall.

What was your long weekend like??

Fall Cravings

D G sheer top, $168
Tory Burch patchwork skirt, $395
Steve Madden hidden platform pumps, $110
Marc jacobs bag, $1,150
OTTO goth jewelry, $350
Karen Walker Eyewear tortoise sunglasses, $180

Its been a while since I last posted a virtual outfit and this one is calling my name for fall.  I am really loving these bow tie blouses and I have paired it with  a wool patterned skirt.  I would also need a pair of stacked heels like these from Steve Madden.  Overall for fall I just want cozy fabrics and warm neutral colors like grey and cognac for shoes and bags.

What is on your fall list?

Last days of summer...

(Juicy Couture top, Jacob shorts, Gap scarf, Tom Ford sunnies)

(Revlon Lilac Pastille on nails)

(Homemade iced tea)

(Amazing spa on a boat!)

This past weekend I really needed some R&R and decided to spend the day at the spa. On Saturday we visited BOTA BOTA spa which is situated on a boat at the Old Port (so cool!). We did the water circuit which consisted of hot and cold baths and basically felt uber relaxed when done. I also enjoyed the great weather with a fresh glass of homemade iced tea. The summer seams to be coming to an end and I really just want to take it all in before Fall decides to take over.  Do you feel like you gotta wear all your summer clothes before taking out the fall gear?

Hope you had a great weekend and would love to hear about it:)

LBD: Long Black Dress

(Francois Beauregard dress, Zara sandals, Old Navy bag, Tom Ford sunnies, MK watch)

The LBD usually stands for the little black dress, but I altered the acronym to stand for the long black dress.  And basically this summer I have been living in mine because it is so easy to wear and comfy while looking dressed up at the same time.  I wore it this weekend to one of my favorite breakfast spots in Montreal called Olive and Gourmando.  The food and atmosphere are so great and I just love the area.  It kinda makes me feel like I am in another city!

Hope you have a great day and a wonderful week!

Summer Sunday Outfit

(Mimi &Coco top, Zara skirt, Steve Madden sandals, Dita sunglasses, Foley & Corina bag)

This past Sunday, my husband and I decided to go pick up some fresh fruits and vegetables from the Jean Talon Market which is in the heart of Little Italy.  I love going there because you can taste test all the locally grown produce before you purchase.  We then took a stroll around the area since the streets were blocked off for pedestrians and lined with vintage Fiats.  I decided to wear something very summery by pairing a bright top and white skirt with sandals. But its back to work today and I wish you a wonderful Monday!
